On March 23, 2016, K. Austin Zimmer of Del Galdo Law Group LLC obtained a unanimous defense verdict following a 10-day federal trial in the matter of DelGadillo v. Town of Cicero, et al 2011-cv-07342.
Plaintiff alleged that she was subjected to repeated incidents of sexual and racial harassment over a period of several years by several members of the town's fire department. She requested damages in the amount of $1.5 million from the jury and her lawyers were seeking an additional $2 million in fees. After seven hours of deliberation, the jury returned a complete defense verdict. The defense offered into evidence a series of recent photographs of plaintiff that negated her allegations of the emotional distress that she alleged.
