James G. Ciesil

James G. Ciesil focuses his practice in labor and employment law for both public and private sector clients. He counsels clients and litigates matters involving a variety of employment issues such as hiring and discipline matters, discrimination claims, sexual harassment complaints, disability claims, wage disputes and union issues. He also provides guidance to clients on a variety of human resource issues, wage an hour disputes and workplace safety laws.

Mr. Ciesil specializes in school law and regularly advises school districts involving arbitrating labor disputes and grievances, litigating before the Illinois Educational Labor Relations board, representing school districts involving tenured teacher dismissal hearings and other matters governed by the Illinois School Code.

Mr. Ciesil practices before the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Labor Relations Board, and the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board. Mr. Ciesil also litigates matters in the Circuit Courts of Cook County and the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District.

Prior to joining the Del Galdo Law Group, Mr. Ciesil served as Deputy General Counsel for the Chicago Public Schools supervising the Labor and Employee Discipline Unit. Mr. Ciesil also worked in private practice with the Law Office of Donald F. Peters Jr. Ltd. representing management in labor and employment law matters. Mr. Ciesil also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Illinois Labor Relations Boards.

Mr. Ciesil has successfully argued before the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.
