Louis I. Lang, Of Counsel

State Representative Lou Lang (D-Skokie) is Of Counsel to the Del Galdo Law Group, LLC. Rep. Lang, who has served 30 years in the Illinois House of Representatives and currently serves as the Deputy Majority Leader, focuses his legal practice on local government and municipal economic development, and election law. Rep. Lang is the former attorney for Niles Township, as well as the former Chief Counsel for the Cook County Emergency Telephone Systems Board. He also serves as the Democratic Committeeman for Niles Township, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Cook County Democratic Party, and the National Secretary of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. In his political roles, Rep. Lang advises candidates on election law, fundraising, field operations, message development, and cultivating electoral coalitions, such as with organized labor local unions. As a lawmaker, in the realm of public finance, in 2017 Rep. Lang steered legislation to the Governor’s desk that reforms how Illinois school districts can responsibly and transparently extend their bond limit authority. Rep. Lang also served as the chief sponsor of the 2009 capital bill that invested $31 billion into state and local infrastructure projects. Additionally, Rep. Lang had served for many years as the chief House sponsor of legislation to expand gaming in Illinois, including Chicago’s South Suburbs. Rep. Lang’s House district includes Skokie, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove and the 50th Ward in the City of Chicago.
