(Berwyn, IL) – Chicago’s 47th Ward Democratic Organization has slated a dozen Chicago-area attorneys to serve on its judicial candidate recommendation committee for the 2018 election cycle.
Among the group of lawyers selected to review judiciary hopefuls includes Michael Del Galdo, managing partner of the Berwyn-based Del Galdo Law Group, LLC.
"The work this committee does is incredibly important because it reinforces with our voters that the process was done intelligently, with professionals who have the proper experience to give sound advice," said 47th Ward Committeeman Paul Rosenfeld. "The attorneys we have selected have outstanding legal backgrounds and proven track records in our community."
A national legal magazine, "Super Lawyers", part of Thomson Reuters, in 2017 named Del Galdo one of seven Illinois "super lawyers" in the practice category of state, local, and municipal law.
"Having a panel of experienced, legal professionals to evaluate judicial candidate qualifications adds a valuable peer review layer to the electoral process," said Del Galdo, who is the General Counsel to the 47th Ward Democratic Organization.
In addition to Del Galdo, the candidate review panel includes: Steven Hart, Sandy Morris, Jim Erwin, Brendan Shiller, Jack Lydon, Coral Negron, David Saunders, Jay Edelson, Matthew Belcher, Jennifer Russel, and Rosenfeld.
The 47th Ward’s committee will interview candidates on July 25th.
